SSC 2017 : International Symposium on Systems, Synthetic & Chemical Biology

Bose Institute was founded in 1917 by Sir Jagadis Chandra Bose, arguably the first Indian scientist to conduct research in the interdisciplinary sciences. From being the unsung hero of wireless communication, Bose shifted his interests towards designing instruments which would enable his landmark studies on plant physiology, photosynthesis, tropism and diurnal sleep movements. His dream of establishing a research institute was fulfilled in 1917 when Bose Institute was established. Today this Institute has the perfect backdrop for interdisciplinary sciences, with the departments spanning the spectrum of physical, chemical and biological sciences. We are celebrating our centenary by organizing a number of international symposia. We believe that the International Symposium on Systems, Synthetic and Chemical Biology 2017 (SSC2017) will provide the perfect backdrop for stimulating discussions and sharing of knowledge between students and experts in the interdisciplinary sciences.
